Catalan Adventures. Castells.

A lot of people think that Catalonia is Spain since its’ geographic territory belongs to Spain. However these two nations are quite different. Most importantly they speak two different languages. In my opinion Catalan has a much more sweet melody. But besides that significant fact they also share their own unique traditions. And so as the Spanish prepare bull fights, the Catalans build castles.

I have had the great luck to see this impressive event several times, including one in Kraków, in my homeland Poland, where I attended a Catalan week. The days were fulfilled with activities and the atmosphere of Poles and Catalans all united was amazing!

Kraków, Poland 2010

This year, I’m showing you photos directly from where Castells come from – Catalonia:

Have you ever seen Castells? Is there any other Catalan tradition that you’re familiar with?
